چکیده

We present a theory of transport through interacting quantum dots coupled to normal and superconducting leads in the limit of weak tunnel coupling. A Josephson current between two superconducting leads, carried by first-order tunnel processes, can be established by non-equilibrium proximity effect. Both Andreev and Josephson current is suppressed for bias voltages below a threshold set by the Coulomb charging energy. A π-transition of the supercurrent can be driven by tuning gate or bias voltages. PACS numbers: 74.45.+c,73.23.Hk,73.63.Kv,73.21.La Submitted to: New J. Phys. Cooper pair splitting in parallel quantum dot Josephson junctions

Devices to generate on-demand non-local spin entangled electron pairs have potential application as solid-state analogues of the entangled photon sources used in quantum optics. Recently, Andreev entanglers that use two quantum dots as filters to adiabatically split and separate the quasi-particles of Cooper pairs have shown efficient splitting through measurements of the transport charge but t...

D.C. Josephson transport by quartets and other Andreev resonances in superconducting bijunctions

Bijunctions are three-terminal Josephson junctions where three superconductors are connected by a single weak link made of a metallic region or of quantum dots. Biasing two of the superconductors with commensurate voltages yields Andreev resonances that produce d.c. Josephson currents made of correlated Cooper pairs. For instance with applied voltages (0, V,−V ), quartets formed by two entangle...

Resonant Andreev Tunneling in Strongly Interacting Quantum Dots

We study resonant Andreev tunneling through a strongly interacting quantum dot connected to a normal and to a superconducting lead. We obtain a formula for the Andreev current and apply it to discuss the linear and non-linear transport in the nonperturbative regime, where the effects of the Kondo resonance on the two particle tunneling arise. In particular we notice an enhancement of the Kondo ...

A simple Floquet-Wannier-Stark-Andreev viewpoint and emergence of low-energy scales in a voltage-biased three-terminal Josephson junction

A three-terminal Josephson junction consists of three superconductors coupled coherently to a small nonsuperconducting island, such as a diffusive metal, a single or double quantum dot. A specific resonant single quantum dot three-terminal Josephson junction (Sa, Sb, Sc) biased with voltages (V,−V, 0) is considered, but the conclusions hold more generally for resonant semi-conducting quantum wi...

Josephson current through a correlated quantum level : Andreev states and π junction behavior

The Josephson transport and the electronic properties of a quantum dot characterized by a single level coupled to superconducting leads is analyzed. Different approximations are used and compared: the mean field approximation , the second-order perturbation theory in the Coulomb interaction and the exact diagonalization in the zero band-width limit. The system exhibits a rich behavior as a func...
